Winner takes on Elora or Seaforth in OEHL final
MINTO – The Minto 81’s senior AA mens hockey team is battling the Ripley Wolves in the Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL) North Conference championship as playoffs wind down.
After beating the Elmvale Harvesters in the second series 4-0, the 81’s are now tied 1-1 with Ripley.
Minto won the first game 4-2 but lost the second 4-1.
Game three is set for March 27 at 8:30pm at the Ripley Huron Community Centre.
Game four follows on March 28 at 6:30pm at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex in Listowel.
The Minto 81’s will then travel to Ripley for game five on April 3 at 8:30pm, with game six (if needed) scheduled for April 4 at 4pm in Palmerston.
The winner of the north conference will play the winner of the south conference – either the Elora Rocks or Seaforth Centenaires – for The J.F. Paxton Cup.
The 81’s captured the cup for the second-straight season last year as OEHL and Ontario Hockey Association Senior AA champions.
