Merry Makers hear from USCO representative
The local chapter of the United Senior Citizens of Ontario (USCO)meet as the Clifford Merry Makers on the first Thursday of each month at Jamesway Manor.
Sometimes they have guest speakers or guest musicians, but last month they invited Ron Shelley to entertain them and share highlights of the USCO convention.
Shelley presented president Irene Kaufman with a USCO flag to keep and use at events and meetings.
At the USCO conference, there was discussion of an ombudsman for seniors; redoing the constitution; a yearly AGM and elections; telephone scams; and travel expenses. Shelley spoke about the #211 number to report elder abuse.
