NEW HOLLAND, PA – A lecture and bus tour in Pennsylvania Oct. 25-26 will celebrate the life of Mennonite pioneer Peter Martin, marking the 200-year anniversary of his move to the Waterloo-Woolwich area in 1819.

The lecture will coverthe family’s immigration to Weaverland Valley in Lancaster County, PA, Martin’s and his move to Canada.

He was prominent in the Ontario community, with his house (later moved to Doon Heritage Village) serving as a church. He also established Martin’s Meeting House and Martin’s School.
