Melville Church Turning Up the Heat with fundraising concert

FERGUS – Melville United Church will be Turning Up the Heat with a fundraising concert and reception on Oct. 24 at 7pm.

Neil Dunsmore will emcee the evening of music and entertainment featuring an array of performers from Centre Wellington.  

Broadway songs will be presented by Gleeful Sounds, directed by Anne Thomson-King. Tom Watson will tell stories and Keenan Reimer-Watts and Kara Shaw will perform their piano solos.

Melanie Steenburgh will perform songs from Les Misérables and Paula Turnbull will sing an aria from Die Fledermaus. 

Jigs and reels for violin, guitar and piano will be played by Elisa Crespo Guardado,  Rene Crespo and Suzanne Flewelling.

Felicia Urbanski and Colleen Weber will play Hoe-Down from Rodeo for violin and piano.

Enjoy this variety of music and much more for $20 adult/senior, $10 student and age 5 and under free.  

All proceeds will go to the Melville United Church heating system replacement project. Tickets are available at Melville, from the performers and at the door.

Melville church in downtown Fergus, built in 1900 and expanded in 1930, currently hosts many community classes and groups.  

It is also home to Brad Halls’ Mid-day Music at Melville piano series.  

The active congregation participates in local events and engages in several social justice projects.
