McKNIGHT, Eleanor
Eleanor Jean (Reddon) McKnight formerly of Clifford and Hanover passed away at South-bridge LTC, Owen Sound on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in her 96th year. Wife of late John McKnight. Mother of Sheila McKnight and Kevin Machan of Owen Sound. Grandmother of Wyatt and Alex Machan and great-grandmother of Blaine Machan. Eleanor was predeceased by son Blaine McKnight and by her parents Walter and Lillian (Hunt) Reddon. Eleanor experienced many changes in her life both geographically and emotionally. In her lifetime, she lived many different places and travelled extensively in their motor home in North America with her husband John. She had unexpected events occur like they do and she went on. Eleanor always liked trying something new whether it was food like avocado toast and sushi or a clothing trend like skinny jeans. Eleanor was more social than you might think, she made new friends at each stage of her life but also kept track of the older ones. She REALLY liked walking indoors or out, it didn’t matter. She wanted to be out and about trying to get that stubborn person to say Hi to her. Eleanor and her husband John were successful dairy farmers until they retired. They continued to do bits of farming and other projects while enjoying themselves immensely until John passed away in 2018. We will miss her crocheting, her colouring, and her dancing. Most of all, her sympathetic ear and her smile. Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Monday, April 13th from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral service at 2:00pm. Interment in Clifford Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.hardyleefuneralhome.com
