McKELVEY, Fred

Frederick Thomas McKelvey, of Durham and formerly of Fergus, passed away on Friday, January 27th, 2023 in his 82nd year.  Beloved husband of Sheila (nee Hornett).  Loving father of Deanna and her husband John Schneider, Jim McKelvey, and Karl McKelvey and his wife Vicki Brindley. Cherished grandpa of Jessica, J.J., Riley, Megan, and Jayden. Great-grandpa of River, Sawyer, and Violet. Dear brother of June Caldecott, Leo McKelvey and his wife Linda, and Michael McKelvey and his wife Christine. Fred is fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and his nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his siblings Daniel, Andrew, Shirley, Gabriel, Christine, and Madelaine. Visitation was held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Tuesday, January 31st from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm. A private funeral service celebrating Fred’s life was held. Spring interment at McNeil Cemetery, Priceville. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
