Mayor: Bridge work not abandoned

Work on the Tower Street bridge is not being abandoned - workers are simply attending a two-day safety program.

Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj provided the update to council on March 18.

“No, they are not abandoning the bridge. The workers are on a two-day safety program that they must attend.”

While the site may appear deserted, the mayor stated workers did not walk away.

“It’s all on schedule and everything is going quite well. If you don’t see any action that is the reason. They will be back on Monday.”
