MARTIN, Ron Clair
On December 31, 2025 Ron Clair Martin surrounded by family and love passed away at the age of 91. He was born in Galt to parents Mary and Clair Martin on October 7, 1934. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 69 years, Alleda Bacon, children Wendy (Neil) Whittaker, Judy Martin (Bill Howes), John (Helene) Martin and Peter Martin. Grandchildren Sarah Whittaker, Shawn (Brittney) Whittaker, Martin (Kate Feather) Whittaker, Julianne (Tom) McEwan, Crystal (Brett) Davidson, Matt Creighton (Dana Cook), Rosie (Mason) Hamley, Billy (Rachel) Martin, Alexander (Shelley) Martin and Emily Martin. Great grandchildren Logan, Ethan, Eleanor, Phoebe, Jada, KJ, Tyler, Chase, Mac and Valerie, Poppy. Ron will be missed by many good friends, too many to mention. A special thank you goes to the staff at St. Joseph’s for their care and kindness to Ron. Underneath the roaring motors and the stories that sounded slightly illegal and highly entertaining…Ron was a kind, caring soul who genuinely cared about everyone around him. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Speedside United Church, 5903 Wellington Road 29, Rockwood, Ontario. A service will be held at 2:00pm, followed by a reception. Memorial donations to Speedside United Church are welcomed and appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home.
