She waitressed at a local restaurant, Villies Fergus Restaurant, in her younger years alongside her good friend and future sister-in-law Doreen. Toph & Jean met at the restaurant and later married in 1951. They had two children before she returned to school to become a hairdresser. Shortly after opening her own business in her home they had two more children. Her career spanned over 50 yrs. Jean’s love of family was undeniable. Her delicious baking brought a smile to all of us. Trips to the arena for sports events and card games, especially cribbage, gave her joy. A devoted woman of faith at St. Joseph’s RC Church, she lived her life with quiet strength and unwavering kindness. She was a member of the CWL for 75 yrs. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit lives on in the memories we cherish. Our appreciation is extended to the Doctors, Nurses & Staff who have cared for Mom at GMCH in Fergus.
