MARTIN, Dianne

of Fergus passed away peacefully at the age of 77 after a courageous journey with ALS. She was the beloved wife of Wray Martin and a devoted mother to Charlene (James) Brubacher and Gerry (Heidi) Chalmers. Dianne was a proud and loving grandmother to Cody (Sara) Brubacher, Jordan (Tash) Brubacher, Matthew (Micayla) Brubacher, Kaitlyn Brubacher, Keaton Chalmers, and Sydney Chalmers (Scott Wagler) and a cherished great-grandmother to Wesley, Sam, Hailey, Harper, and Lincoln with another on the way. Dear sister-in-law to Dorene (Wayne) Martin, Glen (Elaine) Martin, Meryle Martin, Grace (Clare) Bauman, Sharon (Leonard) Weber, Fern (Merle) Martin and Gloria (Howard) Martin. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dianne was predeceased by her parents Isaac and Sarah (nee Martin) Brubaker and sister-in-law Betty Martin. She loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them. Later in life, Dianne experienced the joy of finding her birth mother and discovering four half-siblings, Kim, Karen, Byron, and Bradley, a connection that became a meaningful part of her life. Dianne loved to travel the world and made many dear friends through playing pickleball, square dancing, enjoying games of cards and spending winters in Texas. She valued the friendships she built through these activities and the laughter and companionship they brought. Above all, Dianne had a strong and steady faith in her Saviour, Jesus, which guided her life and the love she shared with others. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who supported us throughout Dianne’s journey with ALS. The many visits, phone calls, meals, and prayers meant so much to us and were deeply appreciated. A special thank you to our nurse, Sam, for the care, compassion, and support shown to Dianne and our family. Dianne will be lovingly remembered for her deep love of family, her warm friendships, and the quiet strength of her faith.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms… I am going there to prepare a place for you.” — John 14:1–3
