Dear Editor:

Oh how sweet it is to be able to be a participate or attend our local fair again!

I’m ready for this year’s events and I hope that you are too. The annual fair (Aug. 5 to 7 at the fairgrounds in Drayton) offers residents and visitors an opportunity to celebrate our agricultural heritage.

The existence of Mapleton is owed to the farming industry. Early settlers cleared the lands, which led to the development of stores and businesses throughout our township. Some of these small settlements blossomed into our current urban centres in Mapleton.

Our Mapleton/Drayton Agricultural Society volunteers have been working hard to bring all of us another great fair experience.

We can all look forward to truck and tractor pulls as in previous years. But also come for the beef, dairy, goat and sheep shows, to name a few.

Come on out to Mapleton for “Another Day in Fairadise”, you won’t regret it.

“Mapleton – Rooted in Tradition, Growing for the Future.”

Mayor Gregg Davidson, Township of Mapleton
