Mapleton council supports farm severance
MAPLETON – Over half an acre is set to be severed from a Mapleton farm and merged with a residential property abutting the farm.
Council voted unanimously in support of the application, without discussion, during a March 10 meeting.
The residential lot is located at 7853 6th Line, about seven kilometres south of Drayton.
It will grow from one acre to 1.58 acres after the lot line adjustment. No new development is proposed.
The farm is just over 100 acres.
The severed land is prime agricultural.
Wellington County’s official plan permits lot line adjustments as long as there’s “no adverse effect on agriculture.”
