MACPHERSON, Robert (Scott)

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Scott, at home with his family. Scott was 71 years old and passed after his battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Mary (Weber), sons Dylan (Tara) and Graham. Grandchildren Aidan, Emmett, Ian, and Aspen who will miss him very much. Sister Sheri (Danny) Weiner, of Halifax, NS, their son Scott (Tracey), and brother-in-law Steve Weber. Scott was born in Calgary in 1955 to Robert and Olivia Macpherson. They raised cattle and enjoyed their horses. In the early 60’s they moved to Eramosa Township, again raising cattle and pigs. Later taking an interest in goats, which he raised and are still a part of the family. Scott travelled around the world with his parents as a child, learning about other cultures. He attended university in New Brunswick and later in Mexico where he earned a BA in Spanish. In 1981, he wed his wife Mary and was married for 45 years. Scott owned an insulation company and later founded Spray on Plastics which he ran for 34 years with his wife and son. He had contracts all over the world and was most proud of having coated the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory lab in Sudbury. In 2001, he bought our farm, which he loved. He built the first Earth Sheltered home of its kind in Canada, even being featured in Canadian Homes and Cottages magazine. Scott loved music, ranging from classical to classic rock and he had a great sense of humour. He was a pilot, a sailor, scuba diver and the best friend to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed and held in our hearts forever. A special thank you to the Bayshore palliative care team, and especially to Merlita for all her care. Cremation has taken place.
