Mini marathon - These boys, ages 10 to 13, are planning a mini marathon to support the Centre Wellington Food Bank. The boys are planning to ride their bikes from Fergus to the Shand Dam along the Cataract Tail twice in an effort to raise money and food donations.

The plan is to meet at the Gartshore entrance to the trail at 7:45am on Aug. 29 and depart at 8am.

“People have had a hard time during COVID. We wanted to do something to support the food banks,” Liam Kelly, 10, told the Advertiser. People are welcome to join them on the ride, or to drop off food or cash donations at the site. Donations can also be dropped off at 122 Bellamy Cres. in Fergus until Aug. 31.
