Local residents Ride to Conquer Cancer

Local residents are ready to Ride to Conquer Cancer in a few weeks.

Some of the riders were at the recent Food Cycle Ride on May 24.

One of the riders, Barb Robinson explained “we’re doing a 200k Ride to Conquer Cancer on June 7 and 8.” The two-day ride takes participants from Niagara Falls to Hamilton where they stay overnight in tents before returning to Niagara Falls.

“There are 13 of us riding from Definition Fitness,” Robinson added.

Stephanie Sittlington added each rider is required to raise $2,500 and anything on top of that is great.

“We’ve all been working hard.”

Robinson interjected that fundraising is still going on.

“We like to overdo it,” she laughed.

Robinson added that people can still make donations by going online www.conquercancer.ca and then clicking on either Definition Fitness or a participant’s name.

“We would love to have good weather for this,” she added.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is for anyone who wants to challenge themselves for a great cause.

The money raised will benefit Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of the top five cancer research centres in the world and help achieve the centre’s vision to “Conquer cancer in our lifetime.”
