Local highland dancers bring home awards

FERGUS – Dancers from Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dance attended the Western Ontario Highland Dancers Association  Tri-Cities competition on March 1.

Nine dancers from the school competed in five different categories.

Categories

In the Beginner 9 and under 11 years category, Harlyn Heathers placed second in Reel, third in Seann Truibhas, and fourth in Fling; and Isley Sy-Green placed fourth in Reel, and fifth in Sword and Fling.

In the Beginner eleven years and over category, Ziva Sobol placed fourth in Seann Truibhas, and sixth in Fling, Sword, and Reel; and Hadley Heathers placed sixth in Seann Truibhas.

In the Novice nine and under eleven years category, Scarlett Jackson placed sixth in Fling.

In the Novice eleven and under thirteen years, Cayley Simpson placed first in Fling, second in Seann Truibhas, and fifth in Reel; and Maribell McBroom placed fourth in Sword, and sixth in Fling.

In the Novice thirteen years and over category Brooke Bailey placed second in Fling, and fourth in Sword, Seann Truibhas, and Reel; and Gabby Jackson placed third in Sword, and Seann Truibhas, fourth in Fling, and fifth in Reel.
