Lions Walk for Dog Guides in Fergus raised more than $6000
Ready, set, go – That was the signal to start the annual Lions Walk for Guide Dogs on May 29 behind the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus. Around 35 dogs participated this year and more than $6,000 was raised, $3,000 of that through donations. In 1925 a pledge was made by the International Lions Club to support the cause of raising money for guide dogs and that pledge continues, thanks to support from local businesses and the community at large. This photo was taken at the official start of the dog walk. Photo by Bill Longshaw
