Lions help hospital

The Pike Lake-Minto Lions Club held its annual golf tournament on Sept. 7. This year, the club chose to support the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (LMHF), with proceeds directed towards the purchase of equipment supporting diabetes care at Louise Marshall Hospital. A total of 69 golfers participated, with refreshments provided by Don and Anne Brown. The tournament, which was coordinated by Lions Jim Mitchell and Debbie Simard, included a 50-50 draw and sponsors for each hole, as well as golf carts sponsored by Jim Dunlop of Routes Transportation Group. Diabetes Nurse educator for North Wellington Health Care Shane Grace attended to speak to the importance of raising awareness for diabetes education. The tournament raised $3,233.60 and a cheque was presented to LMHF Development Officer, Amy Van Huss, at a breakfast meeting at Pike Lake Golf Centre on Oct. 5.
