ERIN – Snow continues to dust the roads and rooftops, signalling the fast-approaching Christmas season.
And there’s perhaps no better way to get into the holiday spirit than a Santa Claus parade.
The Erin Santa Claus Parade, hosted by the Erin District Lions Club, is slated for Nov. 29.
Parade participants will assemble on McCullough Street at 9:30am, ensuring a 11am start to the parade.
The parade will march along Main Street from McCullough to the Erin Fire Hall on Erinville Drive.
Following the parade, hot chocolate and cookies will be served at the fire hall. There will also be opportunities for pictures with Santa Claus.
This year’s parade theme is “Christmas at the movies.”
“If any group is interested in entering a float in the parade they can request an application,” said organizer Carrie Dodds. “There is no cost to submit an application to be in the parade.”
Applications can be requested and submitted to Dodds at carriedodds.cd@gmail.com. They will be accepted until Nov. 22.
Last year’s parade featured nearly 30 floats and Dodds says organizers are “on target for the same this year.”
“Come early to get a parking spot and pick your perfect viewing place on Main Street,” said Dodds.
“There are so many different groups. It really is a great day.”
