Dear Editor:

RE: Terry Fox Run even more inspiring this year for J.D. Hogarth students, Oct. 7.

The involvement of schools in the Terry Fox run is an excellent way to educate and include the youth in the awareness of Terry Fox and cancer research.

It’s good to see students come together to honour Terry Fox and continue the race for the cure.

Around Thanksgiving it’s fitting that we do something for others and think about more than ourselves. I am a student at Emmanuel Christian High School and our school also participated in the Terry Fox run on Oct. 14. We hope to raise $1,500 for cancer research and we are well on our way. The run gives students the opportunity to learn from Terry Fox’s selfless and inspiring actions.

When schools are able to raise large amounts of money for cancer research, and people like James Fielding take inspiring initiative, the legacy of Terry Fox lives on.

Seth Kotteleneberg,
Erin
