‘Lacking civility’

RE: We all have choices, Dec. 26.

I am writing in support of Dave Adsett’s editorial, in which he expressed concern regarding the conduct of Centre Wellington council members.

Specifically, I am very concerned about councillor Stephen Kitras’ personal attacks on CAO Andy Goldie and the fact that Kitras wants to use hand-picked delegations to support his views. It would appear that in addition to lacking civility, the councillor also lacks a basic understanding of a democratic municipal government.

Adsett’s belief that “it’s going to take some effort in 2020 to get council working together in a more collegial, respectful fashion” needs to be taken seriously by council members.
