Stubbornly to the end, at his home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in his 91st year. He joins his beloved wife, Audrey Koehler (née Eurig). Loving father of Jeff Koehler (Wendy) of Clifford, Kathi Padget (Jake) of Ayton, and Michelle Green (Len) of Ayton. Cherished grandfather of Karissa, Ashley, Jeffrey, BJ, Kasey (Cody), Abby (Franky) and Adam (Krista), and great-grandfather of Cypher, Rylee, Forrest, Francesco, Stefano, Nevaeh, Blake and Brock. Dear brother of Margaret Scherbarth (late Edward), and brother-in-law of Diane Eurig, Linda Litt (Larry), and Sharon Eurig. John is predeceased by his parents Henry & Marie Koehler, sister Ann Bogaert, brothers-in-law Donald (Marie), John (Ida), and Verne. The family would like to thank Dr. Perrin, Dr. O’Neil, Ontario Health at Home, Birmingham Lodge, and Bayshore Health Care for the exceptional care given to both John, and his family over his health journey. Visitation was held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest, on Tuesday, February 17th from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm, where the funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, February 18th at 11:00am. Spring interment at Cochrane Cemetery. John felt strongly about community, and over the years donated generously to local charities. In lieu of flowers, John’s family encourage those wishing to make a donation in his memory to donate to a local charity of their choice.
