KINGDON, Arthur Joseph (Joe)

Arthur Joseph (Joe) Kingdon of Rockwood, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at Guelph General Hospital, at the age of 79 with family by his side. Joe is survived by Patricia Kingdon, his loving wife of 33 years. He was a proud father to Carolyn (Matt) and Heather (Glenn), and a caring stepfather to Stephen. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Ethan, Brendan, Emma S, Bailey and Emma J. He will be greatly missed by his sister Mary Anne, his brother-in-law Dick, and his nephews Craig and Joe. Joe was born in Milton, Ontario on September 11, 1946, to parents Arthur Thomas Kingdon and Mary Robina Kingdon (née Herdman), both predeceased. He was a dedicated family man who took over working the family farm in Norval when his own father passed away. Joe went on to establish his own 190-acre dairy farm in the township of Eramosa, named Milton Lodge Farms where he milked approximately 30 head of Holstein cows twice a day, as well as tending to the land. One could say about Joe, “His rows were always straight, and his word was always good.”. He will be missed by many friends and neighbours in the community. When he wasn’t farming, he was driving around the country in search of plowing matches, tractor pulls, and great live music. Visitation was held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home (280 St. David Street South, Fergus) on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, April 30, at 11:00am. Following the service, you are warmly invited to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments upstairs in the Wellington Room. Elevator access is available. A private interment will be held at Johnson-Eramosa Union Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
