KATERBERG, Albert

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, July 12, 2020, in his eightieth year. He is now rejoicing with his Saviour, Jesus Christ. Beloved husband of 57 years of Sienie (Zantingh) Katerberg. Loved father of Jamie (Wendy), Carla Clark (Bill), Anita Sealey (Graham), Tim (Leah), Al (Miriam), Mark (Julie). Cherished grandfather of 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Dear brother of Henk (Alie), Janet Wolters (Clarence), Margo Van Sligtenhorst (Gilbert). Predeceased by his parents Jans Tinus and Alberdina Katerberg. Albert was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1955 at 14 years of age with his family. He married Sienie and they raised their family in Elora, Ontario. Albert was very involved in the community and volunteered with organizations like the Elora Road Christian Fellowship, The Door, Heritage River Retirement Residence, The Wellington Terrace, The Gideons, Elora Road Christian School, and more. Albert was a skilled tradesman and with these skills he volunteered and helped hundreds, if not thousands, of people. His strong faith and love for God inspired him to reach out and help those in need. He will be greatly missed by the community. Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 14th, 2020. The funeral was held on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 for immediate family only. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be directed to the Elora Road Christian School.
