JONES, David

Was born to Leona and Carl Jones on October 14, 1956. He was a dedicated, reliable and supportive man who always strived to help others around him. Whether that was coaching the kids down at the ball park or fixing vehicles in the driveway on a sunny Saturday afternoon. He loved his hockey, happily suited up in his goalie equipment and playing at the Fergus arena. He was well loved by family and the community. After a long fight with cancer, David passed away at home on December 2, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his wife Mary, his three daughters Michelle (Jim) Belonzo, Angela (Brandon) Breen, Melissa Jones; and most importantly, his beloved granddaughter Lily. He is survived by his mother Leona, father-in-law Norman Walters and his three siblings: Jim (Cathy) Jones, Laurie (Rob) Hansplant, and Christine Hagerman. He is now at rest with his father Carl and two mother-in-laws, Lillian and Barb. Jonesy is driving his Camaro over the rainbow bridge to the baseball fields. If anyone would like to pay their respects, a viewing will be held at The Graham Giddy funeral home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and then 7:00pm to 9:00pm. An open service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00am on Saturday December 9th with a reception to follow. A private interment will be at a later date.
