Joint infrastructure project to upgrade field at Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex

Let there be light – Officials from the Township of Centre Wellington, the Fergus Scottish Festival and the Fergus Fall Fair celebrated the first phase of a joint infrastructure project at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex on Nov. 29. Each organization is contributing $13,000, along with some grant funding from Farm Credit Canada, to upgrade electrical, water and wifi to the field behind the sportsplex.

The improvements will benefit the community in general and the two special events specifically and allow for larger and safer festivals in the future. A small caber wound with a string of lights was plugged in and lit up to signify the extended electrical infrastructure.
