JOHNSTON, Dr. Leslie Edward

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dr. Leslie Edward Johnston, a distinguished scholar, devoted educator, and cherished family member, who passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023. Leslie was a beloved grandfather, father, and husband. His enduring 57-year marriage to Eleanor was a testament to the strength of their bond. Leslie’s love extended to his grandchildren, Catherine and Amanda, and his children, Kirsten and Ian (with Lara). Leslie’s family circle included his siblings Donald (deceased), Murray (Andrea), and Beverly (John Kearns, deceased). A Celebration of Life will be held at Melville United Church in Fergus, Ontario on December 29, 2023 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made to Wellington Terrace or the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of Dr. Leslie Edward Johnston.
