Jazzlynn Meagher wins 4-H Lego tractor pull

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The 2025 Wellington 4-H Lego Engineering Club began on March 28 at Mimosa United Church.

Approximately 20 members attended the club for the first meeting.

In the club every member was given a Lego set to use and groups were then split into an older and younger group with different builds, material and goals.

Members built Lego catapults in the younger group, while the older group built swinging pendulums.

Afterwards, the group played a game titled “Defeat the Evil Queen,” where they had to use their catapult to hit the castle, as well as the evil queen inside.

During another meeting, the younger group built balloon-powered cars and tested to see which one went the farthest.

The older group tried to make the slowest possible car.

The club’s Lego Tractor Pull Achievement Program was held at the Erin Fall Fair on Oct. 13, where members tested their robotics with the ability to pull the load.

“Many members were able to pull the maximum weight, so we had to add various other objects around the fair,” stated officials.

The winners, from first to third, were Jazzlynn Meagher, Josh Brander and Andrew Kuepfer.
