Inaugural arts festival coming to Erin this spring
June 20 event will 'celebrate creativity, foster community engagement': officials
ERIN – A new arts festival is coming to downtown Erin in June, showcasing Erin artisans and businesses.
The 2026 Erin Arts Festival will mark the “first of hopefully many,” said festival president Ross Anderson.
He and his stepson Jose, who recently graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design, have been working to finalize details, secure funding and connect with local artists to bring the art festival to life.
“It’s a nice family fun thing to do,” said Anderson. “We are going to put it on Main Street in Erin and bring some art interest into play.”
Anderson has received a $2,000 grant from the county for the festival but he says much more funding is needed.
“Right now funding is the most important thing,” said Anderson.
“We very much desire to work with organizations in any way possible. Our budget for this event approximates $10,000 so sponsorship funding is obviously welcomed.”
They hope the inaugural event will draw at least 1,000 people.
“It is our intention that the festival will be an impactful event that celebrates creativity, fosters community engagement and builds a vibrant cultural legacy for the Town of Erin and the County of Wellington,” Anderson said in an email.
The festival will take place June 20, with official times released closer to the date.
Those interested in donating funds or businesses interested in sponsorships can do so by cheque, payable to Erin Arts Festival Inc., or by e-transfer to ra.erinartsfestival@gmail.com. Receipts are available upon request.
