Humane society calling for donations to support 24 cats
ERIN – The Upper Credit Humane Society (UCHS) has taken in 24 new cats, including 20 kittens and four nursing moms, all of which will be searching for their forever homes in the coming months.
“We ended up with 20 [kittens] and then four nursing moms, so that actually divided up quite nicely,” said UCHS shelter manager Sharon Morden.
“They [nursing moms] provide feeding, cleaning and enrichment.
“We really got lucky with the whole situation.”
With the cats and kittens now safely in the care of the UCHS, the shelter is seeking both monetary and item donations to aid in their care.
Physical items in need include,
– kitten milk replacer, the canned version;
– clear Pedialyte;
– baby rice cereal;
– kitten pâté; and
– kitten and cat kibble.
Both physical and monetary donations can be dropped off at the shelter located at 5383 Trafalgar Road in Erin or left at the UCHS thrift store in Georgetown.
Monetary donations are accepted in cash or via credit card, debit card, cheque and e-transfer.
Those wishing to donate via e-transfer can do so at chair@uppercredit.com.
Morden asks that all donations have a note attached outlining the purpose of the donation as well as some contact information so the team can thank donors.
All of the cats are currently in foster care and will become available for adoption in the coming months.
