Harriston’s cenotaph park will be getting a facelift this summer as part of the town’s downtown revitalization program.

Minto council approved a tender for the Harriston cenotaph property to Yard Weasles  for $31,225, plus applicable taxes.

Mayor David Anderson said the work is part of the downtown revitalization program.

Business and Economic Development Manager Belinda Wick-Graham said the work is being done through the rural economic development fund’s streetscape funding.

She said the work has the full support of the Harriston Royal Canada Legion, and noted the Harriston revitalization committee recognized the Cenotaph Park as one of the key features in the downtown area.

“It’s going to be spruced up and very nice looking,” Wick-Graham said.
