Hand tools collection at museum

ABOYNE – Wellington County Collects is back at the Wellington County Museum and Archives with Prior to Power: Doug Evans’ Collection of Hand Tools.

This exhibit explores Evans’ over 900-piece collection of hand tools and equipment.

“Prior to Power will showcase just a small sampling of Doug’s massive collection,” Lindsay Woelfle, curator of the exhibit said.

“With a collection this size, that is constantly evolving, we wanted to offer some of the most unique and interesting pieces while still giving a good overview of the collection as a whole.”

The exhibit will open July 13 and run until Jan. 5.

The museum will be hosting a lecture on July 14 at 2pm where Evans will discuss his collection, collecting strategy and some of his favourite pieces in the exhibit.

The Wellington County Museum and Archives is located on Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora.

The galleries are open weekdays from 9:30am to 4:30pm and 1 to 5pm on weekends and holidays.

Admission is by donation.
