GUELPH – Actors, dancers, musicians and storytellers will share their crafts in four days of live shows during the Guelph Fringe Festival.

From Aug. 8 to 11 at three downtown venues, this year’s festival features 48 performances including solo shows, ensemble pieces, experimental music and improv.

“It’s a unique opportunity for local audiences to be inspired by the innovative work of independent artists from near and far,” festival coordinator Paul Barson said in a news release.

While mainstage productions may include mature themes, the Fireflies on the Fringe program offers three performances for children.

Guelph Fringe Fest is supported by downtown businesses, local arts organizations, the City of Guelph and the Ontario Arts Council.

“They allow us to bring this amazing festival to Guelph for just $15 a ticket, and that’s the best entertainment value anywhere,” Barson said.

Shows will be performed at Silence Sounds, the Guelph Civic Museum and artBar.
