Guelph/Eramosa comes together for a Party in the Park

Doggone fast – Moose the wiener dog was the winner of the Wiener Dog Dash at Guelph/Eramosa’s “Party in the Park” held in Rockmosa Park on July 31. Before the races, dogs and owners were announced as they did a tour around the perimeter of the track. Here, one wiener dog gets some pre-race pats from the crowd.

Owners lined up with their wiener dogs on the start line before releasing the dog, who would proceed to run to another owner on the finish line holding that dog's favourite treat or chew toy.

The rambunctious wiener dogs did not always stay in their own lane.

These wiener dogs sure were eager to run. There were even a couple false starts during the competition.

This wiener dog got some love from their owner after the race.

People could go for a ride on the Kiddie Fun Trak train.

Woody Woodburn and The Embers provided live music to the party, echoing throughout the park. They were later followed by The Practically Hip.

15 local vendors had set up shop in Rockmosa Park for the party’s artisan market.

Despite there being 16 food trucks, lines were still long to get food.

The many long lines at the food trucks amassed itself into a crowd.

People lined up to take a brief flight in the Re/Max hot air balloon. The balloon was tied down the entire time, and only floated a few metres off the ground.
