Guelph bylaw officers to provide service to Wellington North
WELLINGTON NORTH MUNICIPAL OFFICE, KENILWORTH

KENILWORTH – Wellington North Township has entered into a contract with the City of Guelph for bylaw services for a one-year pilot beginning Jan. 1.

Guelph bylaw officers will enforce property standards, swimming pool enclosures, door-to-door sales and zoning infractions, according to a Dec. 13 press release.

“Partnering with the City of Guelph for bylaw enforcement will allow complaints to be handled more effectively in the township,” township chief building official Darren Jones stated in the release. “Regular reports will be used to assess and modify service and fill in any gaps in delivery, while also assessing the benefits in a year’s time.”

The pilot will be evaluated late next year, including using community feedback, to determine if service delivery from Guelph should continue.

Scott Green, Guelph corporate and community safety manager, said the city’s bylaw officers bring years of experience and look forward to “supporting our neighbours just north of us.”

Wellington North residents can report bylaw concerns by calling 519-848-3620.
