Peacefully, at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, on Friday, February 22, 2019, Mrs. Elsie Lucille (Hall) Grummett of Clifford, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of Larry Grummett for 63 years. Loving mother of Dennis Grummett (Sandy), David Grummett (Karen Toner), John Grummett (Trish Watson), and Heather Grummett (Michael Smith), and grandmother of Tim, Matt (Emily), Carly, Cole (Nicole), Samantha (Josh), and Thomas (Lindsey). Sister of Wilfred and Marie Hall, and Eleanor and Hugh Litt, and sister-in-law of Colin Grummett (Jeanette), Margaret Reidt, and Dale Grummett. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents William and Ada (Dally) Hall, and by her brother-in-law Arnold Reidt. Elsie was an active member of Knox United Church, Clifford Rotary-Ann’s, and the Clifford and District Horticultural Society (she received a life-time achievement award in 2017). She was an avid gardener, tireless volunteer with adult fellowship, the Clifford Fish Fry, Rotary Sauerkraut Supper, Clifford Truck Show, and numerous other events. Elsie also enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, knitting, needlepoint, and catering to her family and friends. Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Tuesday, February 26th from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral service was held at Knox United Church, Clifford, on Wednesday, February 27th at 11:00am. Rev. Dr. Art Hiley officiated. Spring interment in Clifford Cemetery, Clifford. Memorial donations to Knox United Church, Clifford, or the Clifford and District Horticultural Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.hardyleefuneralhome.com
