Green recommends merging solid waste committee back with roads

Wellington County councillor John Green is recommending council merge the solid waste services committee back with the engineering services [roads] committee.

Near the end of the Dec. 10  inaugural meeting, Green rose from the table. He first stated CAO Scott Wilson could make a decision whether his statement was out of order or not.

Green said based on the activity within the past year “two or three meetings were cancelled and three that lasted 45 minutes.

“If that continues for this year, I would suggest that it and engineering services should become one committee again.”

Green said he’d considered making the motion pro-actively, but because of the new councillors at the table, he chose to serve notice to look at the activity for the next year.

Warden Chris White accepted the comments as a notice of motion.
