We have been lax in recent weeks when it comes to insisting on letters of a certain length, as per our usual policy of seeking shorter comments.
From time to time our letters volume increases enough that we have to remind readers that our letters forum is very much a shared space. In order to look after many people we really need letters kept to a reasonable limit of 200 to 300 words.
It is more difficult to write short pieces, but we believe it will make for a more satisfying read when completed.
