GODLEY, John
Passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Beloved husband of Dianne Elizabeth Godley (nee Norsworthy). Loving father of Doug Godley, Kelly (Greg) Norman, Dave (Stephanie) Geneau, Sherry (Jim) Campbell and Laurie (Bill) Taylor. Proud grandfather of Jamie, Jesse, Brittney, Alexis, Abby, Dann, Cheryl, Faith, Dean and Billy. Cherished great- grandfather of 8. John was loved and will be deeply missed by his brother-in-law Joe and his nieces and nephews; Joanne Fraser (Chris) and family and John Auger (Heather) and family. Predeceased by his parents Bob and Alice Godley and sister Nancy Auger. John will be greatly missed by the many friends that he made over the years, especially Reinhard and Andrea, who remained with Dianne and with John’s wonderful children, by his side, as he courageously battled with Wegener’s Disease. John drove tractor trailer for over 50 years. Beginning as an owner operator then working for Midland Superior, Route Canada, Northern Telecom, and Hammond Manufacturing. He always loved his job trucking, as well as dispatching and driving for Hammond MFG in Guelph from where he retired. A memorial visitation will be held upstairs of the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus on Sunday, December 18th, 2022 from 1:30- 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital, Sick Kids Foundation, or to a charity of your choice.
