Garden Festival, firefighters breakfast set for June 3 at Harriston-Minto arena

HARRISTON – The Harriston and District Horticultural Society is gearing up for its 20th annual garden festival on June 3.

“It promises to be a good one with lots and lots of vendors  … so plan to attend if you’re looking for some different garden accessories or plants,” deputy mayor Jean Anderson, a horticultural society member, told Minto town council members at the May 9 meeting.

The event will run from 8am to 2pm at the pavilion on the Harriston-Minto Community Complex grounds at 111 George Street.

Firefighters breakfast

Councillor Geoff Gunson, a Minto firefighter, told council Minto Fire Harriston station firefighters will hold their annual firefighters breakfast the same day in the community complex.

The event runs from 7 to 11am with entry by donation.
