‘Future ready’?

RE: Erin approves bid for 3 major strategic plan studies, Dec 13.

Many residents of Hillsburgh and Erin look forward to the “robust” public consultation our town leaders are promising as we develop a new Strategic Plan in early 2019.

Thank you to the new town council for expressing support at its first meeting on Dec. 5 to include environment and climate change as fundamental pillars going forward. If the Town of Erin is indeed gearing up for “exponential growth” starting in three to five years - as the Oct. 15 RFP for the Strategic Plan stated - then “future ready” must surely be built on a firm foundation of resilience and sustainability to meet the challenges of the wild and unpredictable climate ride ahead of us, particularly for the sake of our kids and their future.
