Friends of the Grand plant trees along Carroll Creek
Grand planting – It was 8C and wet on May 1 on the banks of the Carroll Creek near Elora, perfect tree planting weather for the many volunteers who turned up to assist the Friends of the Grand River. The trees will eventually shade and cool the waters of the stream for brown trout and other species. Eastern white cedar, sugar maple, paper birch, and burr oak were among the species planted by the enthusiastic volunteers who ranged in age from five and up.
