It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Hazel Irene Friel, at her home in Palmerston, on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the age of 97. Wonderful mother of Pat & John Crispin, Dennis Hollis, Dan & Janice Friel, Roy Robertson, Cathy & Pat Fagan, Grace Friel & Dave Huson, Mike Friel, Mary Lynn Marquette, and Matt Friel. Loving grandmother of Kevin, Carolyn & Chuck, Brent, Dave & Angela, Greg & Nicole, Christina, Joseph, Sean, Chris & Deb, Tonia, Jacqueline & Steve, Krista & Shane, Anastasia, and Samantha, and special great-grandmother of Keith, Will, Carley, Kate, Makayla, Mallory, Nicole, Cyrus, Trinity, Lucas, Elliot, Taliyah, Amylah, Xavion. Sister-in-law of Eleanor (Stewart) Winer. Hazel was predeceased by her parents John and Hilda (Schultz) Winer, siblings Howard Winer, Myrtle & Edward Carroll, daughter Donna Robertson, and by her husband Maurice Friel. Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A Celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston on Saturday, October 22 at 1:30pm with reception to follow. Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
