NEUSTADT – The Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation (Bruce CFDC) and Saugeen Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) have presented Tibbs Management president Peter Reid as the fourth angel investor for the “Hawks’ Nest Competition.
The Hawks’ Nest is a Dragons Den inspired competition where new and existing businesses and entrepreneurs from Grey, Bruce, Wellington North, Minto and the City of Owen Sound will pitch their business ideas in an attempt to secure financial support from local “Hawk” investors.
On June 18 at the Hanover Civic Theatre the final six adults and one youth will pitch their business ideas to the Hawks.

PETER REID
Although this is Reid’s first time as a “Hawk”, Tibbs Cash was a corporate sponsor in 2023. Reid has an extensive background in commercial sales and owned a retail store until taking early retirement and moving to Georgian Bluffs.
Reid has been actively involved with Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce, serving as chairperson since 2019 and has volunteered as a driver for the Canadian Cancer Society and taken part in The Coldest Night of the Year and Walk for Courage events.
“Peter’s story is one of innovation, community engagement and the pursuit of new challenges,” Hawks Nest officials state. “It’s with this spirit that Peter is looking forward to this year’s entrepreneurs’ presentations and finding ways to contribute to their success.”
The Hawks’ Nest will announce two more local business leaders who have committed to invest a minimum of $5,000 on one or more of the finalists.
“Not only is there a minimum $30,000 up for grabs; the finalists will leave with valuable feedback, coaching, mentorship and immeasurable exposure to kick start their business ideas,” officials state.
