Fireworks, celebrations at Fergus sportsplex

FERGUS – The Rotary Club of Fergus Elora will be hosting Canada Day festivities in the field behind the Sportsplex July 1. 

Admission at the gate is by donation, and all the events are free of charge.

 Activities include a live birds of prey demonstration by Wild Ontario, a dog agility course, disc golf demonstration, croquet, badminton, cornhole, face painting, kids craft station, costume parade by Once Upon a Guise, Canada flag photo station, and more. 

Rotary Club President Leanne Iravani has played a key role in preparing for the event and hopes to have as many residents at the event as possible. 

“We want everybody to have a fantastic time on Canada Day. We want to celebrate with the rest of our country, and for our guests to have a fun filled, family Canada Day,” she said.

6:00 Kids’ Story Time 

6:15 Fergus Brass Band 

6:30 Cheerleading Show 

7:15 Children’s story 

7:30 Costume Parade 

7:45 More Bingo!

8:00 Zumba

8:20 Fergus Brass Brand 

8:30 Music and fun

9:30 Fireworks (15-20 min.) 

Food vendors will be on site including, Zehrs BBQ, Belwood Country Market Butter Tarts, The Red Door, Brew House, I Love Chocolate and a candy floss booth. 

The grounds are pet friendly and the Centre Wellington fire truck will be on site with activities for the kids.
