Awards – Fergus Branch 275 of the Royal Canadian Legion held an awards dinner on March 16 and handed out some hardware to long-serving members and recognition to some remarkable members.

Daphne Giddy and Helen Humphrey received 60-year pins; 55-year pins went to Fred Hiller, Gary Watt and Jim Dixon (posthumously); and 50-year pins went to Brian Bielby, Larry Wainwright, Allen Evans, Bruce Starkey and Joe McKenna. John Martin received an Award of Merit for his efforts to prepare and send weekly newsletters to members and several members received Awards of Appreciation for their extra efforts through COVID-19 shutdowns (they include Barb and Richard Slater, Terry Ryckman, Jay Gazzola, Jim and Sherry Fleming, Tom Semanyk and Derek and Wendy Brunkard).

Graham presents a special Award of Appreciation to Fergus Firefighters’ Association president Dave Rutherford, recognizing the association for the donation of tents for outdoor patio use at the Legion.
