Fergus Legion host Scotch tasting event during virtual Fergus Scottish Festival weekend

Scotch tasting – The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games went virtual but the Fergus Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion offered a Scotch tasting and dinner in person on Aug. 14. Three different Scotches were sampled between courses of the four-course meal. Don Jennings, a member of the Fergus Pipe Band, piped in each round of the nectar and Eleanor Murray, another band member, enjoyed a taste.

Gerald Boels from Aboyne is a member of the Companions of the Quaich, an organization of about 25 members in Fergus who meet to enjoy the taste and history of Scotch whisky. Boels offered a little history about each of three Scotches offered at the tasting.
