FATT, Kenneth Duncan

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth “Ken” Duncan Fatt on the morning of Sunday, March 1, 2026, in his 92nd year. Ken is predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary (Gazzola) Fatt (2007), his parents Harry & Annie Fatt, and his brothers Russell and Ronald. His loss will be felt most deeply by those he leaves behind: his children Larry (Dana), Kathy, and Karen (Joe); his grandchildren, dear Papa to Marissa (Justin), Sara (Mitchell), Craig (Annie), Harrison, and Kassandra (Sam); and his great-grandchildren, Brock, Savannah, Clara, Adaline, Ridge and Parker. Ken is also survived by his brother Clarence (Verna (d)), and his brothers- and sisters-in-law Donna & Roger O’Malley, Vic & Cheryl Gazzola, Alma Riehl, and Barbara Fatt-Merilees. He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, and by his lifelong friend Betty Neil. Ken was a true gentleman; a man who approached everything he did with genuine kindness, a twinkle in his eye, and a cheeky grin. He had a penchant for fixing things and, as a lover of all things automotive, he received his mechanic’s license before he was old enough to drive. He was happiest in his shop, surrounded by family, friends, and his “toys”, sharing coffee and stories with laughter and a smile; filling his days with hard work, helping out his friends, and the not-so-occasional road trip adventure. A thoughtful confidant, Ken was always prepared to pass along a guiding principle or two, sharing some especially cherished pieces of advice: “It’s not the car, it’s the way you drive it!” And above all else: “Behave yourself!” Ken was a tremendous gift to all who knew him and he will be deeply missed. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ken’s neighbours, whose kindness, friendship and support meant more than words can express. In accordance with Ken’s wishes, a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Guelph General Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com. A tree will be planted in memory of Kenneth D. Fatt in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
