FARRAR, John Charles
Passed away peacefully at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home in Elora, Ontario in his 87th year on Thursday May 12 2022. Loving husband of Gillean for 57 years and dear father of Christine and Sheryl (Lee). Grandfather of Brooke and Isla. Predeceased by parents Norman and Iris and sister Jane. John was born in Montreal and grew up in the Eastern Townships of Quebec before moving to Ontario where he lived in Oakville, Hamilton, Caledonia, Blenheim, Fergus and Elora. He became a shop teacher in Caledonia, earned his B.A. at University of Western Ontario and finished his teaching career in special education at Centre Wellington District High School in Fergus. John loved British racing cars, sailing, road trips, family get-togethers, woodworking, red licorice and reading the Saturday Star. John was a kind, generous, and gentle soul who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. The family greatly appreciates any donations made in John’s name to his favourite charity - the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
