FARNWORTH, George McAllister
83, of Elora, Ontario, passed away on Monday March 25, 2024, at Wellington Terrace nursing home. Born in Guelph, Ontario, November 24, 1940, the middle son of Richard and Muriel (McAllister). After graduating from Waterloo Lutheran University (Wilfred Laurier University), George taught history to thousands of students over 30 years starting at Brampton High School before returning home to Guelph at Centennial CVI. George was a faithful disciple of Christ and lifelong historian who’s passion supported his learning, teaching and travels. George, remembered as a loving husband to Heather Jane, an inspiration to his children, Michael (Amy Gough), Jennifer (Tim Wiebe), and Bryan (Vanessa Gilmour); a proud grandfather to Liam, Alexandra, Jackson, Roan, and Corwin; and a beloved brother to John Farnworth and sister Mary (Ron) Fehr. A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 11am to 12pm at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus, Ontario. Visitation followed at the funeral home.
